Born This Way Foundation is committed to supporting the wellness of young people and empowering them to create a kinder and braver world. To achieve these goals, Born This Way Foundation leverages evidence-based programming and authentic partnerships in order to work with young people to build kinder communities and improve mental health resources.
Led by Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta, Born This Way Foundation was founded in 2012 with the goal of creating a kinder and braver world. Young people are key to that mission and that’s why we work to provide youth with genuine opportunities, quality resources, and platforms to make their voices heard.
We launch programs tailored to and powered by young people, putting their ideas, voices, and needs first.
We engage young people online and in their communities, working with a diverse group of partners to connect youth with the services they need to thrive and drive change.
We work with leading researchers to improve understanding of the factors that affect youth wellness and empowerment.
Today’s young people are a passionate, collaborative, and diverse generation. Born This Way Foundation believes that they are our most promising problem solvers and effective change makers. With support for their creativity and boundless potential, young people stand ready to strengthen our communities and build a kinder and braver world for all.
How we treat one another impacts how we feel about ourselves, how we feel about each other, and how healthy our communities are. That’s why we believe inspiring people to be kind is the key to building a more vibrant and productive world. We understand this is no easy task and we can’t do it alone.
That’s why we’re collaborating with a diverse group of partners and young people themselves to give youth the resources and opportunities need to build kinder communities.
In the words of our co-founder Lady Gaga, “In order to heal you have to feel.” That’s why we believe that mental wellness is fundamental to building a kinder, braver world. We strive to raise awareness of the importance of mental and emotional health, decrease stigma, and provide young people with better access to quality resources that meet their unique needs.
